THE PERFECT SUMMER DAY TO ENJOY THE STUNNING GARDENS AT HARLAXTON MANOR
As a family, we love spending time in the gardens at Harlaxton Manor. With it being only 5 minutes from home, it is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. My mom happened to be visiting from Canada during the Jubilee so we all spent the afternoon playing in the gardens.
It was amazing to be able to wander the gardens and admire the flowers and the stunning architecture. The greenery in the orangery is something that dreams are made of. After seeing the Manor for the first time, it was clear to my family why I love the space so much.
It was a gorgeous sunny day so we wandered the gardens and googled a bit of the history of Harlaxton Manor. Interestingly, the manor belonged to Gregory Gregory and was built in the mid 1800s. At one point, it was used to train soldiers during the First World War. By 1965, it was leased to Stanford University and became the first American university in the UK. And eventually it was gifted by a trustee to the University of Evansville.
Not only is Harlaxton Manor a university but it is also a stunning wedding venue and one of my favourite to photograph. From the epic ballroom, to the gold room to the stunning orangery, I absolutely adore the manor.
