UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS - NOTTINGHAM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I don’t often blog engagement sessions but after such lovely engagement sessions this year, I feel like I need to. I adore engagement sessions because it allows for me to get to know my couples before the wedding and capture some moments as a couple right before the wedding.

Iris and Jonathan are such a sweet couple and their love for each other was so clear from the moment I met them. Being graduates of the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, they suggested we have their engagement session there and I am so pleased that we did.

We met at the stunning University of Trent Nottingham building which had beautiful stone architecture against greenery and beautiful gardens with the warm July sun. From there, we wandered around the park to all their favourite spots, stopping to take portraits at every location that meant something to them as a couple.  As well as capture some sweet moments in-between.

Iris and Jonathan are such a special couple. Their joy and playfulness led to time passing so quickly. We ended their session and captured some gorgeous golden hour portraits behind the hotel on the university campus. It was a beautiful summer evening with a wonderful couple.

I couldn’t believe how many beautiful spots there were from the parks and buildings to boating lake. Some surprising things that I did not know about the University of Nottingham is that they have two campuses in Nottinghamshire and two overseas: one in Ningbo, China and the other in Semenyih, Malaysia. The buildings in Malaysia and China are actually modelled after the Trent Building and the one in China even has the exact replica of the clock tower.  The Trent building was built in 1928 with its stunning architecture and views across Highfields boating lake and a large lawned area, it is something that you must see. The building was created after the first world war for a place to accomodate the students. The land was donated by Sir Jesse Boots and is now the university park.

The Trent building is located at the centre of campus, and it is connected to the rest of the city via the tram network. The Trent building is one of the most iconic buildings on campus, and it is also home to the University's main library. It is named after the River Trent, which runs through the city of Nottingham.

Iris and Jonathan held their wedding at Kelham House in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It was a fun, stunning and magical day which I also cannot wait to share.
